Jodi and Kenny, October 25th 2014, Dancing Deer Mountain

To see more of Jodi and Kenny's  images. CLICK HERE

Saturday October 25th, forecast: unending rain followed by torrential downpours accompanied by showers with increasing precipitation as the day goes on. Advice: if you are going outside brink a snorkel, fins and  mask.

Well, we dodged a bullet on that one! Turned out the weather was fairly pleasant for Jodi and Kenny's wedding celebration at Dancing Deer Mountain in Junction City Oregon.  All we needed were a few umbrellas and a have fun attitude.

A small intimate wedding and a beautiful naturally groomed setting with a wilderness lodge feel was a great way for us to wrap up our season.  Jodi and Kenny's group of family and friends were wonderful to mingle with. Love and joy did indeed abide,

The ceremony was performed by the Reverend BJ Schmeltzer of Anytime Anywhere Weddings.

The cake was created by The Market Of Choice in Eugene. (tasty, lemony and moist, Just right!)

Great crowd, great bridal party, slightly outrageous groomsmen, rocking party - good job guys!

Lilly and Jun, Ainsworth House, October 18, 2014

To see more of Lilly and Jun's images, CLICK HERE

We returned to Portland last weekend to our favorite venue, our favorite officiant, a new favorite caterer and all the flowers, cake and festivities that go along with it.

We went to the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City to photograph the wedding of Lilly and Jun.

Lilly was beautiful and glowing in her beautiful dress.  They made quite a lovely couple.  The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Kevin Yell who also happens to be the proprietor of the house.

The festivities following the ceremony were MC'd by Andrew of Stumptown DJs.  The meal was catered by Mississippi Delta BBQ, the brisket was melt in your mouth delicious btw.  The cake? didn't get their contact information.  It was a chocolate cake covered in fondant and accessorized with cupcakes.  Looked tasty.

And they partied on into the night, . . .

Down a country road, nestled amongst the hills northwest of Dallas Oregon is the BeckenRidge Vineyard owned and managed by Becky and Ken Jacroux.  This was the site of the marriage celebration of Michelle and Manny last Saturday afternoon.

Turns out the on -gain-off-again moods of our Oregon climate turned in the nick of time.  We had dry seats for the ceremony - but just barely. There was just enough time to create some romantic images of Michelle and Manny in the vineyard and then we moved to the expansive covered patio (which is also available for ceremonies) that overlooks the valley for formals and a few more romantic shots prior to the ceremony.

The ceremony was performed by Anthony Behrens, The Wedding Judge. The grounds were manicured magnificence, Michelle and Manny were beautiful together and their family and friends were enthusiastic and loving.  The lovely flowers were provided by Marsha Mackie at the Garden Path Flower Shop.

Happy Wedding Day!  Rain means good luck anyway, right? especially during a fall wedding in Oregon!

What a glorious day on the Oregon Coast! Everything was right. Just the right weather, The perfect location, an exceptional gathering of family and friends (I wanted to adopt them all!) And, you guessed it, the perfect couple.  Did we have fun or what!

Meagan and Frank were married on Saturday September 20th at the Heceta Light house Bed and Breakfast.  This historic house is the original assistant light keepers residence for the Heceta Light Station.  It is amazing.  The views and the hiking opportunities are phenomenal.  Stephen, the InnKeeper was an exceptional host

Meagan and Frank got dressed in the B&B and then we ran around taking lots of great pictures around the house, on the bed in the tub, on the grounds, down at the beach.  They were so great to work with that it was like a wedding day photography play date.

Did I mention that they flew all the way here from England to get married? Know what else was super cool? I got to marry them!  After a very sedate and solemn ceremony (yah right) with beautiful music provided by Celia Canty of Heavenly Harps, everyone retired to the front lawn where appetizers were served as a prelude to a fantastic meal prepped and served by Stephen and Michelle Bursey, owners of Ona Restaurant in Yachats Oregon, and their staff.

The cake was provided by Sweet Magnolia Bakery in Florence. I saw many of the guests going back to the cake table to make sure they got to taste each flavor.

Well, thank you Meagan and Frank and all the vendors that made this day possible, it was a good one!

At least it didn't rain, . . .

Actually it was a beautiful day on the Oregon Coast, not too hot, not too cold, nice overcast skies to make for shadowless wonderful photography and there just happened to be a wedding!

Rebecca and Jordan got married last Saturday on the beach below the bluffs at The Inn at Otter Crest.
It was nice to be back at the Inn after several years.  It has all the elements for a beautiful beach wedding; sand and surf, driftwood and a stream with a waterfall.

The wedding was attended by a great gathering of family, friends, college buddies, seagulls and a whale or two while Christian, a college buddy, delivered a great ceremony,

After the official duties were performed we all climbed up the bluff for lawn games and great brews.

The meal was provided by The Lodge at Otter Crest.  Thank you Chris and your crew, for a great facility and a great meal.

A & J were married  last Saturday in the beautiful meadow at the Pudding River Rod and Gun Club. There guests included lots of family, friends, and two dogs.  It was an exciting day and an outrageous party. I mean we had it ALL; a Beautiful expressive Bride, a Groom that worshipped his Bride, great people, great food, great beer, great music, a food fight, a cannon relegating grandma's ashes to the cosmos and the aforementioned dogs, What a day!  Whew, . . .

Whodathought? a beautiful multi ethic celebration of marriage in Florence Oregon?

This was it! wonderful weather, incredible family, delicious food, a traditional Chinese as well as a tastefully outrageous traditional western ceremony.  What a good day to be a wedding photographer in Florence.

We started out at Lina and Shane's house for preps, some romantics, some family photos and then a beautiful Chinese ceremony officiated by Lina's father.   After the ceremony we photographed  more family before setting out for Old Town Florence. The second ceremony was performed by Scott, a friend of Lina and Shane and was very memorable, in a good way.

After the ceremony on the river we walked across the street to Spice in Florence, a unique and wonderful Old Town Florence restaurant, for a delicious meal.

The party, the cognac, the laughter and the love lasted long into the might.

Amie and Chuck, they're not in Kansas anymore.  If I had to pick a wonderful and magical spot on the Oregon Coast for a wedding I could not think of a better place than Harris Beach.  What a perfect day it was.  It started a little 'iffy' with all the fog in the morning but it was a gloriously sunny day in time for the wedding ceremony.

Amie and Chuck had an intimate gathering of family to witness their exchange of vow and rings. There were tears, laughter and a lot of fun on the beach. There reception was in a residence named 'Whale's Way' with a beautiful view of the beach.

Great day guys! enjoy the rest of your stay in Oregon and keep on celebrating every single moment!

To see more of Chelsea and Adams images CLICK HERE

The clouds rolled in, thunder crashed, lightning flashed and the rain made imposing gestures but the show and the party must go on!

Chelsea and Adam were married on the patio at the Stone Cliff Inn, in Oregon City. This was our first time shooting at this venue. It has many varied and wonderful ops for great images. Apparently this location was used for several scenes in the Twilight movie series.  The grounds are just wild and incredible.

The ceremony was officiated by the Remarkably Resilient Reverend Tina.  The meal was catered by the Stone Cliff Inn, what a delicious meal it was!  Chelsea and Adam had a great DJ, David Bui, who played great music and kept the party rockin.

Great ceremony, dramatic weather, great meal, great music, what also could you possibly ask for!
I know! wonderful, loving, supporting family and friends.  Chelsea and Adam definitely had those, what a party!

To see more of Arriana and Dan's images CLICK HERE

The are many many wonderful reasons for living on the Oregon Coast. One extra special reason is the chance to photograph a beach wedding!  Arriana and Dan provided us with that opportunity this past weekend at Beverly Beach State Park.   Waves crashing, kids playing, surfers surfing, kites flying, lots and lots of people strolling along the sand and yelling. "congratulations!" It was a wonderful celebration shared by an intimate gathering of family and friends.

After the ceremony we all climbed into cars for the journey to the Grand Ballroom in Salem.  The meal at the reception was largely provided by family, bringing a variety of delicious salads that would have made any professional caterer green with envy.  Then there was the PIZZA! I love pizza at a wedding.  Nothing says 'fun, relaxed, casual party'  like pizza.

Thanks for a fun start to our weekend guys!

To see more of Becky & Doug's images, CLICK HERE

This past weekend we packed up our little RV and traveled to Bend Oregon to photograph Becky and Doug's Wedding at the McMenamin's Old St. Francis School.  We've enjoyed many a beer there but this was our first time capturing the union of two souls at that lovely location.

The skies cleared and gave us picture perfect weather.  Family gathered from near and far as no one actually lived in Bend.  The ceremony took place in the Henry's Courtyard where we later sat by the fire and enjoyed a beer.  The reception was indoors next to the Theater.  As we were all itching to be out in that perfect weather, we escaped with Becky and Doug to Mirror Pond for more romantic pictures.

As we post, Becky and Doug are on a 'road trip' honeymoon to Virginia,  their new home. Here's to a long and happy life together guys!

To see more of Shari & Joe's images, CLICK HERE

Now that we have moved to paradise (the Oregon Coast) there is not much that can get us back to old P-Town.  What with the crowds, traffic, noise and air pollution, it takes something pretty special to get us to spend a weekend in Oregon's largest city,

Shari and Joe did it.  They provided that irresistible situation that we just could not turn down.  They were married this past weekend and invited us to shoot their wedding celebration.  Shari and Joe are so much in love, their families were wonderful, the beautiful chapel at St Mary's is spectacular and the party was rocking with Nick, one of our favorite DJs from Sound Choice Entertainment playing the tunes at the Sentinel Hotel.  What a day!

To see more of Becky and Peter's images CLICK HERE

Becky and Peter got married last weekend and it was a wonderful event.  Actually, weddings like this are the very reason I keep coming back for more.  That and the cake, I love cake.

THEY ARE IN LOVE.  That was evident every moment of the day and after all, that is what really matters. Along with a great party, good music, a loving family an outrageous bridal party. What an adventure this day was.

The ceremony took place at the Immaculate Heart Parish a stunning and colorful catholic church on N. Williams in Portland.  It was a photographers dream.  We were able to shoot the entire ceremony using ambient light only.

The Reception followed at the Jenkins Estate out in Beaverton.  The old barn has been converted into a rustic reception hall.  The stalls still stand and serve as small dinning rooms.  We used the lush grounds for bridal party shots and romantics.  Becky and Peter made it so easy as all we had to do was point our camera and they did the rest.

When we left after eight hours the bride and groom were still going strong and set to dance the night away.

And the forecast called for, . . . RAIN, with a chance of nuptials.

On the day of the Wedding, . . . beautiful blue(ish) skies accented with fluffy white clouds. Thank goodness the weather guys had it all wrong!

What a wonderful day for a Wedding. Michelle and John's Celebration at the Emerald Vally Golf Resort was picture perfect! With a golf themed Ceremony including a Philosophy of the Links as applied to Marriage homily, followed by a great party, a truly unique (and again golf themed) cake, the day was a success!
