Gina & Faryar, Lakeside, 8.26.12

To see more of Gina and Faryar's  images click HERE

Gina in a fairytale gorgeous dress and Faryar in patent leather two tone-wingtips, great accents and comments on a creative, fun, frivolous, lovey day.  They were married at Lakeside Gardens in the patio gazebo with friends and family watching the ceremony which was performed by BJ Anderson. of Anytime Anywhere Weddings.

We started the day with the first look in the small lakeside gazebo, (the 'back' lakeside) and then strolled the gardens and the island creating some great images.

The flowers and lanterns were dreamed up and provided by Gina and Faryar themselves. The caterer was Lakeside Gardens.  The Dj was quite the talented dancer (think 'Hammer Time') and was a friend of the Bride and Groom.  The cake was created by Larson's Bakery.  It had one of the most obscure quotes incorporated into the design that I have ever experienced, . . .  still don't understand, suppose I never will, . . . look at the images for more on THAT.

This was a wonderful celebration and we're glad that we got to be there.

Theresa & Elizabeth Leach B.G., 8.25.12

To see more of Theresa and Elizabeth's images click HERE

Theresa and Elizabeth were married on Saturday at Leach Botanical Gardens.  LBC is a wonderful place for this or any celebration, surrounded by nature and the lush forest of S.E. Portland.   With a nice gathering of family and friends they exchanged vows, rings kisses and sand, ate a wonderful meal enjoyed the atmosphere and loved the night away.

The bouquets were created by Kern Park Floral.  The Officiant / MC / Directors of all things Bridal were Paula Lewis and her partner Trish from Affordable Elegance.  The delicious meal was catered by Nicolette's Catering.

This was a wonderful day for Theresa and Elizabeth and for us!  We had the opportunity to document a love story, and to go for a walk in one of Portland's very best gardens.

Courtney and Danny, Bridal Veil, August 24, 2012

To view more of Courtney and Danny's images click HERE

Courtney and Danny were married at one of the Columbia Gorge's hidden wonderlands, Bridal Veil Lakes.  Surrounded by beauty and landscaped grounds, with a wilderness motif, Courtney and Danny
stood before an arbor overlooking Bridal Veil Lake and as the sun was setting they recited their vows before family and friends.  What an incredible setting for a wedding. Granted it's a bit of a drive and it's easy to take a wrong turn going up the mountain if you do not pay close attention to the signs but, it's worth the effort!

The flowers were provided by Wendy at Clark County Floral.  The Officiant was Mike, a friend of the Bride and Groom.  He did a wonderful Ceremony.  The dj/mc for the ceremony and reception was Tauren Blackman of On Track Entertainment. He provided excellent direction for the party!  The cake was created by the Helen Bernhard Bakery.   We shared the experience with James from DreamCapture Media who provided video services.

That was quite a party guys, you rock, and apparently fly!

Emily and Connor were married on Sunday in the meadow behind Blackberry Hall at McMenamin's Edgefield Property in Troutdale. There is no end to the opportunities for great imaginative imagery and fun at Edgefield.  E & C had a good group of friends and family to help celebrate the day.

The flowers were provided byAngel at A Floral Affair. The bouquets and boutineers were a delightful splash of color to accent the day.  The officiant for the ceremony was Rev. Myrna Yoder.  The catering was provided by the team at Edgefield.  The director of festivities, DJ, and MC extraordinaire was Anthony Wedin of A Sound Choice Entertainment.  The cake was actually pies, made by New Cascadia, specializing in gluten-free baked goods, and Helen Bernhard Bakery.

Kim and Dominic, Ainsworth, 8.18.12

To see more of Kim and Dominic's images, click HERE

Kimberly and Dominic got married at the Ainsworth House and Gardens, in Oregon City.  We had it all; emotion, expression, great weather, great location, great food and lots of great partying!

Kim and the ladies arrived via limo as Dominic and the guys were prepping upstairs.  Must say, 'D' had quite a crew, made for some lively shooting.  The first look took place near the garden gazebo.

It was a wonderful event full of kids, creative personalities and good times.

The flowers were provided by Belinda's Flowers.  You can see lots of beautiful images on her website or at her Facebook Page.  The officiant for the event was  Beverly Mason, one of our personal favorites.  Her business is the Radiant Touch.  Here is her facebook page.  The dj / mc for the day was Harris McCord, sorry no contact info available here.  The caterer was Catering by Laurie, always a delicious choice.  Finally the cake, what a yummy cake it was.  During the cake feed Dominic cut the biggest piece I have ever seen to feed to Kim.  I've seen entire cakes that weren't THAT big.  Alas, he was a gentleman.  The cake and the 'cake pops' were created by Amber, best friend of the Bride.

Great day Guys! thanks for all the fun.

Michaela & Travis, The Foundry, 8.13.12

To see more of Michaela and Travis' images, click HERE

Michaela and Travis tied the knot, cut the cake, tossed the flowers and danced the dance on Monday, August 13th at The Foundry in Lake Oz.  The Foundry occupies the old Ram's head Brewery bldg off of Oswego Point Dr and is a beautiful venue set right on the river.  It has the distinction of having one of the most unique ceremony areas on the river, the top of a giant old pier casing, that can accommodate 100 people.  As the ceremony is happening, guests are siting 75 feet above the river with a stunning panoramic view.  Now, add to that equation a stunning bride and a handsome groom and you cannot go wrong in the image department.

We started the day at the Washington Pk Rose Garden, drove to the Vista Overlook and then to the Foundry for more B & G shots and family formals.

The bouquets and boutineers were created by Bella Bloom Floral. The ceremony was officiated by the Stepfather of the Bride, Bruce, and was a touching event with a father's gift of advice to the newly married couple. The festivities were guided by the hand (and voice) of Brett Bell of Encore Mobile DJ Service. The cake was provided by JacCiva's Bakery.

The party was great, the Bride and Groom had some great 'air' time and even provided some entertainment for their guests with a special dance. That they had prepared for weeks even months prior.  It included a costume change ads some rather precisely timed aerial work (well, . . . Michaela jumped into Travis' arms and he successfully caught her, but 'aerial work' sounds cooler doesn't it?)

Thans for a fun wedding guys!

To see more of Kimberly and Andrew's images click HERE

Once again into the garden at Ainsworth House. Kimberly and Andrew were married on Sunday, August 12th under beautiful, (it a little hot) bright sunny blue skies.  Ainsworth house is in my opinion the perfect venue for a wedding; the grounds are magnificent, the staff is totally about customer service and making your event one to remember, and the list of recommended vendors is exceptional, we're on it, but it would be exceptional anyway, . . .

Kimberl and Andrew were just so much fun to be around, and their family! they imported a large percentage of the guests from Jersey and the New York area.  They really knew how to party!

Everything floral was brought to the party by Francois Weeks of European Design by Francois.  The centerpieces on each table were over-the-top gorgeous! The bouquets, boutineers and accents superb. Running the show was Nancy from Ainsworth H & G, one of our fav coordinators.  Ryan from Perfect Memory Events was our dj for the day. The cake, and the cupcake tower, were provided by Cupcake Jones.

What can I say, at the end of the evening I felt like part of the family, thanks guys!

To see more of Myra & Brien's  images click HERE

Myra and Brien were married on August 11th at Lakeside Gardens, a hidden parklike venue off Foster Rd in S.E. Portland.  With two ponds, two gazebos, (two geese) a myriad of paths and trails, a foliage draped pergola and a decorative paver padded patio there are so any photo opportunities.  I could spend hours getting around to all of the different micro locations o this property.  We shared the Bride and Groom with Amanda and her team from Ambient Sky Productions as we created some stunning images for the happy couple.

The bouquets, boutineers .and floral accents were provided by Flowers Tommy Luke.  The ceremony was officiated by one of our favorite Revs, Steve Sharp, of A Beautiful Ceremony NW.  The festivities were directed by Nik, from A Sound Choice Entertainment.  The cake was created by La Joconde Cake Studio.

Amy & Scott. Hostess House, 8.10.12

To see more of Amy & Scott's  images, click HERE

Amy and Scott were married at the Hostess House in Vancouver.  The Hostess has a very pleasant garden with a creatively sculpted water feature and a wonderful gazebo.  We used all that the Hostess had to offer to create some romantic and fun images of the day.  Family and friends filled the chapel to capacity with love, laughter and bubbles.  So many bubbles, I even breathed a few bubbles, I'm lucky to be alive, bubbles don't taste so good but they look really cool.  I have never actually encountered THAT many bubbles at a wedding before.  The honors were performed by Chris Schwenneker, the minister at Amy's church

The music was provided by Bob Barrett, whose card I lost, but it was rockin!  He directed the festivities at the reception with exceptional expertise and panache.  The cake, dress, flowers and catering were all provided by The Hostess House so no more links there either.

It was a great party guys and that fine ride in which you left the party?, . . . nice!

Andrea & Joshua, Queen Anne

To see more of Andrea and Joshua's images click HERE

Bubbles floated on the breeze and sparks flew during the wedding celebration of Andrea and Joshua Schmidt on Wednesday at the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion.  At the 'Queen', a magnificent example of Victorian architecture in Portland, the opportunities for imagery are impressive.  The grounds lend themselves to several diverse looks and feels for ceremony and reception activities from 'Intimate Garden' to 'Fountain Patio' to GIANT 'Gazebo'.  Lush beauty and variety are good descriptive terms for  the Queen.

Andrea and Joshua chose the Garden for their ceremony which included a unity sand ritual and was officiated by Jack, the father of the Groom.

The flowers, bouquets and boutineers were created by Blooming Bouquets of Portland.  The DJ/MC  was Dennis of A.D. Entertainment.  The cake was provided  by Helen Bernhard Bakery, always a yummy choice!

It was a beautiful evening and I am soooo glad that we didn't set the Bride on fire!

Kristina & Timothy, Ainsworth House

To see more of Kristina and Tim's images click HERE

The gardens at Ainsworth House are in full bloom this time of year.  Lush greenery abounds, a myriad of scents in the air, butterflies floating on the breeze, even landing right on the bridal bouquet.  the bouquet (btw) was created by Herbst Hilltop Florist, couldn't miss that photo op.  Well, I did miss the one where the butterfly landed on Kristina's shoulder. What a lovely day it was.

The ceremony was officiated by Judge Anthony.  The music and festivities direction was in the hands of Ryan from Paradox DJ Productions Portland.  The catering was provided by Catering by Laurie, always a delicious choice.  And, talking about delicious, the cake created by Jan at Wrightberries Cakes and Cupcakes was cupcake perfection!

Great party guys!

Crystal and Ken, Cannon Beach, Wet-n-Wild

to see more of Crystal and Ken's images click HERE

What do you do if you want to escape the heat?  Drive to the beach of course, it's always cooler at the beach isn't it?  Temperature wise it was slightly cooler than the valley but image wise, . . . Crystal and Ken heated up the coast nicely.  They were up for anything we asked them to do. Can't go wrong with a beautiful bride and a dashing groom even if their actual wedding was nearly year ago.  Click on the link above and check out what we did to the dress (and the tux, . . .)!

Ktistina and Tom, July 28, 2012

To see more of Kristina and Tom's images click HERE

Kristina and Tom rented a lodge in the woods, Anderson Lodge, filled it with family and friends and had a wedding.  Since they did not have to be gone from the venue unit the next day, they also had a great party, great food, a fire pit for cooking smores and drinking beer and sparklers.  What a great day!

Anderson Lodge had no shortage of beautiful views and great amenities to take advantage of; a great ceremony area, a bunkhouse / meeting hall, a dressier  indoor facility with a big fireplace and a separate more basic reception facility, multiple flagstone brick paved patios, a gazebo and an expansive pasture. Great photo ops!  the ceremony was officiated by Bob, a pastor at Kristine and Tom's Church.  The catering was provided, quite deliciously, by a big green panel van and I lost their business card or I would be posting a link here.  (so if you are reading this and can fill me in? . . . )   The Dj was Tricia, again, no card.  The cake was beautiful and was created by Julie.

It was a marvelous occasion, everything was perfect!

Denise and Randy, July 22, 2012

To see more of Denise and Randy's images CLICK HERE

Mt Hood Organic Farms has it all.  It is one of the more 'complete' venues we've had the pleasure of shooting at.  It has the 'view', it has the country ambience, it has a classic hall for receptions, a meadow, a pond, beautifully decorated and appointed facilities for clients and some of the most spectacular port-o-poty's I have ever had the privilege to use (flowers, carpeting, concierge table, mood music and washing facilities)!

AND for at least this day, the property was graced by guests of honor Denise and Randy, our wonderful, loving, Bride and Groom.

Continuing what seems to be a growing trend, Denise and Randy utilized the products from a farmer's market for the floral accents of the day.  The ceremony was officiated by Noryne Robinson of Adventure Weddings NW.  The reception was in the Apple House and was catered by Mt Hood Organic Farms.  The music was brought to the party by, A New Groove, a Portland based variety dance band.  Dancing broke out after a delicious six course family style dinner.  We were treated to some incredible harp music compliments of the Father of the Bride.  The dessert, (let's not forget about the dessert),  was provided by Friends with Pies and Other Stuff, (no link, it was just 'friends' that brought pies and other goodies) The things I sampled were delicious.  I only 'sampled' cause goodies like THAT were certainly not going to help me lose any pounds.

A wonderful party, delicious food, great views, fantastic people, . . . a very good time.

Stacy and Charles, July 21, 201

To view more of Stacy and Charles' images CLICK HERE

Puppies and Pizza and Beers, oh my, . . .

No wizard, no tin man, no scarecrow and they were not in Kansas to begin with. This wedding was epic and spectacular in the classic sense. It was in a wonderful setting with an old barn, a neighboring wheat field, an expansive, sunny and beautiful ceremony area, a well appointed  reception site and pizza, . . . and beer.  What could possibly go wrong with that combination.  Well, nothing did.  It was a spectacular shoot, beautiful location, beautiful Bride, attractive and creative decorations and a charming hunky Groom.  whew, . . .

Stacy, Charles et al. gathered and created the floral arrangements finding the necessary elements at a farmer's market!  The ceremony was officiated by Doug McCleary (who also happens to be an incredible keyboardist). The dinner was catered by Veraci Pizza.  VP brought a mobile pizza oven to the reception and cooked them on the spot.  Ummmm, nothing like fresh pizza. . .  and beer!
The cake was from Lamb's Thriftway.  (they are on out top-ten list!). The DJ/MC/Make-the-party-happen go-to guy was, Chris at Memories of Muzic.

What a day, what a shoot, what a Bride and Groom! Great party guys!

Victoria & Kevin, July 16, 2012

To view more of Victoria and Kevin's images CLICK HERE

Victoria and Kevin were married on the lawn amongst the rolling hills, the meandering streams, the racing golf carts and flying balls at Arrowhead Country Club, oops did I mention that Team Victoria/Kevin and Team Patrice/Stephen were doing the racing, . . . don't tell the pro shop.

This was a wonderful and sweet family affair.  The flower girl and one of the groomsmen were Victoria's children, they did a marvelous job f it too!

The flowers were provided by RBlooms of Lake Oswego.  The ceremony was performed by Fr. Gary who is the Pastor at Kevin's Church.  The party was MC'd by John, Vicki's son.  The cake was from His Bakery and represented a nod to both, 'love birds', representing our lovely couple and to the great outdoors which Vicki and Kevin  enjoy together frequently.

We finished up the night by not burning down the Bride with sparklers, always a concern with monster sparklers, but everything was good.

Mary & David, July 8, 2012, Ainsworth House

To view more of Mary and David's Wedding CLICK HERE

Mary and David met together for the first time that day, looked into each others eyes, touched gently, whispered in each others ears.  They walked in the garden holding hands, glancing at each other in the dappled sunlight, trading smiles and winks and subtle little gestures.  They looked around and finding themselves alone they kissed, . . . and then they got married!  Okay, I abbreviated a lot of the day but you get the idea.

The garden paths and the flora at Ainsworth House just lends itself to getting lost in the moment.

The flowers and decor were provided by Mary and David et.al. The ceremony was performed by Erin Jimenez.  The music, the announcements and errands were taken care of by James. The cake was created by Wrightberry's (MONSTER cupcakes; recess's peanut butter cup, german chocolate cake, and marrionberry, ohhhh, my).

For more images of Chris and Robert's Wedding, CLICK HERE

Ainsworth House and Gardens was the venue for the wedding celebration of Chris and Robert.

Chris was a wonderfully beautiful Bride and Robert was a charming Groom, the love, joy and tenderness was very evident as they interacted together during the day.  They may have wandered from each other briefly during the day's preparations and the party afterward but those moments were punctuated by intense smiles, winks, eyebrow raises and frequent hand holding and squeezes.  The energy flowing between these two was incredible.

The flowers were provided by Kay Dietl of Flowers for You. The Master Officiant of All Time, Kevin Yell did the deed, Drew Jenkins was the DJ/MC for the after dinner festivities and the Cake was deliciously crafted by Papa Haydin & Co.

Yolanda and Jason, 7.3.12 @ Lakeside Gardens

To see more of Yolanda and Jason's Wedding, CLICK HERE

Yolanda and Jason were married at the Lakeside Gardens Gazebo in a beautiful late afternoon wedding
attended by close family and friends And, one of the cutest little ring bearers I think I've ever seen.  That would be Sebastian or SeaBass for short.  He was quite the little poser!

Yolanda and Jason were there to have great party and it was so. Though, the cake feeding was not quite so dramatic as the picture above would imply we had a lot of fun and great expressive playfulness.

The floral accents were provided by Nancy's Floral. The ceremony was officiated by our friend Roger Moore of Moore Creative Weddings.  The DJ / MC was  Detroit Diezel and  the cake was created by Beaverton Bakery.

Katie and Kevin, Ainsworth House 6.30.12

To see more of Katie & Kevin's Wedding images, CLICK HERE

What do our favorite Venue, our favorite DJ, our favorite Officiant, our favorite Caterer, my favorite Dance Partner and a rainy Oregon June afternoon all have in common?

They were all part of Katie and Kevin's Wedding this past weekend!

After scary Katie expressed her deepest feelings concerning the current state of atmospheric interference we settled right down to a dream shoot. We had lots of fun and were constained by the weather to take full advantage of the beautiful interior features of the Ainsworth House. This  turned out to be wonderful! Usually we are a bit limited by time and concentrate on shooting in the gardens.  What an opportunity this gave us to create some beautiful images.

Unlucky with the weather but blessed by the venue.  Add a beautiful and expressive Bride and a Groom who likes to have some fun and what could go wrong?

There was certainly NOTHING (aside from some rain) wrong with THIS party.

The bouquets and boutineers were created by Nancy's Floral.  The catering and Cake were deliciously provided by Catering By Laurie.  The party was directed and MC'd by Kris from Primetime Music.  The ceremony was graciously, creatively, thoughtfully and humorously performed by Kevin Yell, Co-Proprietor of the Ainsworth House.
