Lauren and Mike were married on September 10 at the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City. Our favorite venue was blessed with nice warm weather, specular blooms, love and joy, family and friends, a great party, a great DJ and an outstanding caterer! Everything came together to create a wonderful celebration.

Lauren and Mike were married in the afternoon under the Giant Ponderosa Pine on the property. Those that have been around a while suggest the age and wisdom represented by this gentle giant have an influence on the marriages performed beneath it. Nice to think about isn't it? and it really is a majestic creature of nature.

The ceremony was officiated by Sarah Wurzbacher who was a college friend of Lauren and Mike's. It is always special when the ceremony is performed by someone who is intimately familiar with the couple and Sarah did not disappoint in that department.

The party was directed by Lynn and Mark of 'Media Jockeys DJ Services' they know how to run a reception and they really rock the crowd with their dance music selections.

We had lots of fun and lots of photo ops.

What a glorious day on the Oregon Coast! Everything was right. Just the right weather, (just a little smokey resulting in beautiful sunset shots) The perfect location, an exceptional gathering of family and friends (I wanted to adopt them all!) And, you guessed it, the perfect couple. Did we have fun or what!

Michelle and Tim were married on Saturday September 2nd at the Heceta Light house Bed and Breakfast. This historic house is the original assistant light keepers residence for the Heceta Light Station. It is amazing. The views and the hiking opportunities are phenomenal. Misty, the InnKeeper was an exceptional host

Michelle and Tim got dressed in the B&B and then we ran around taking lots of great pictures around the house, on the grounds, down at the beach. They were so great to work with that it was like a wedding day photography play date.

The wedding was officiated by Mary Crook of Weddings by the Sea.

The reception musical festivities were overseen by Paul, of Destination Events.

The meal was exceptional and was provided by Ona Restaurant of Yachats.

Perfect day, perfect weather, perfect venue, outstanding Bride and Groom. It was Jordan and Michael's wedding on Sunday July 23rd at the Ainsworth House and Gardens.

This of course is our favorite venue of all time so we were very excited about returning to Portland to photograph Jordan and Michael's celebration.  The Ceremony was officiated by Kevin Yell, proprietor of the AH&G, directed by Nancy the Managing Event Coordinator at AH&G and the reception was artfully managed by Denmark, of BridgeCity Music. 

The day was attended by family and friends who were in the mood to celebrate. There was romance in the air, alcohol at the bar and music playing on the dance floor. Jordan looked beautiful, Michael looked handsome they both looked in-love,

What  more could you need? It was a great day!

Rachel and David were married last Saturday June 10, 2017 on the bluffs at the The Inn at Otter Crest in miraculous weather and in the company of a magnificent community of family and friends.

The forecast said; "Rain with blustery winds at times. Don't plan on going outside and if you do don't plan on going very far or staying very long." As we all know (particularly those of us who reside on the Oregon Coast) if you don't like the weather (or the forecast), wait an hour. This was never made more evident that for the occasion of Rachel and David's Wedding. Blue skies, fluffy white clouds and even more unusual, NO wind. It was perfect.

The bride, groom, and bridal party were ready to have fun and together we created the images to prove it. We started with prep shots, moved on to the first look and then took the entire bridal party to the beach for some fun in the sand. Then it was back up the stairs for a wonderful ceremony.

After the ceremony it was time for lawn games, a delicious combo of seafood and pizza, yummy chocolates and a DJ who actually spun vinyl.

What a day it was at Heceta Head last Saturday! The weather was clear and beautiful with just a gentle breeze, no fog or  mist coming in off the ocean, warm enough to wander about without a jacket even as evening approached. It was a picture perfect day for Samantha and Frank to be married.

The date was September 9th, the weather was perfect, the bride was exquisite, the groom was rugged movie star handsome, the father of the bride was uninhibited, the meal (catered by Ona Restaurant in Yachats Oregon, was incredible. whew!

The ceremony took place at the on the grounds of the Light keepers Residence also known as the Light House Bed and Breakfast where we started bridal (and Groom) preps in the Mariner Rooms before heading outside to enjoy the weather and the beauty of the Oregon Coast.

This was a small intimate wedding, most of the family and visitors were from somewhere in Texas, not sure of the exact location but Texas isn't THAT big is it? As a matter of fact I'll bet that if you crossed the border into Texas and hollered, "Hey, where is everybody?",  the father of the bride would be right there to welcome you, shake your  hand and give you a million dollar smile.

This was one of my favorite weddings of the year, Loads of love, enthusiasm and an incredible location, What's not to love about that?

Back to Portland from Florence for a very special wedding, Ludine and Barry were married on Saturday, August 27th at Lakeside Gardens. 

This was truly an international event with guests arriving from all over the world, what a celebration! Family and friends gathered in this wonderful location to witness Ludine and Barry join their lives together.

Ludine, our first Jamaican Bride that I can recall, looked beautiful in her exquisite gown with a full flowing beaded veil. Barry enjoyed it as well as evidenced by the look on is face during the first look. He's a man who enjoys beauty and personality. Ludine has both in abundance. Barry is quick with a smile and a full hearty laugh. When you are talking to him he makes you feel like you're the only person in the room. Very fine qualities in both Barry and Ludine.

After creating some images of Lu and Barry we shot family formals at the ceremony gazebo, enjoyed a wonderful ceremony, had an adventure with the bustle of the bride's dress and then we got ready to party.

The meal was delicious, (loved the Prime Rib) provided by Lakeside Gardens, The music, games and action of the party were directed by the Aussie DJ our friend and long time business acquaintance, Gavin. 

It was a great night and ended with some romantic night time images and a bubble exit to a stretch limo in which the drove off into the night while friends and family wished them well.

This past Saturday, August 20th, Lisa and Dustin were married on the beach in Seaside Oregon just outside the Best Western Hotel.

An enthusiastic and loving group of family and friends attended the wedding and the beach reception.

The weather was typical Oregon Coast style; sunny and warm, then breezy, windy, and a few moments of gale force winds. Towards evening we even had a bit of mist and light rain which made the large bonfire a welcome addition to the festivities.

Delicious sandwiches, sodas, beer, hotdogs and s'mores were on the menu. It was a classic Oregon Beach party. What a great way to get married!

Sara and Joseph were married this past Saturday, August 6, 2016.  The wedding took place at Whaleshead Resort near Brookings Oregon on a beautiful sunny, windy day and was attended by an intimate gathering of family and friends.

After the wonderful ceremony that included a special ring for their daughter Lyla and was officiated by David Dagstanyan, a family friend, everyone moved to the reception cabin where delicious pizza awaited. Beer, pizza, good music, a photo booth, lots of fun family and friends, was the recipe for a great party! The sunset, the stars, the view from the deck, the romance, the intoxication, . . . whew!

Towards sunset Sara and Joseph, Patrice and I went to the beach.  A beautiful Bride and a dashing Groom backlit by the setting sun, being affectionate on an dramatic beach, made for some great images.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful bride and a handsome groom. They also had a little princess with gorgeous red hair full of curls and big blue eyes. They are quite a happy little family. On Saturday, June 25th they were all married under a giant ponderosa pine tree. It is the giantest in the land, some, I've heard them, say it has magic qualitities. For if you get married under the giant pine you can hear it whisper, "You'll stay with me till the very end."

It was a  wonderful celebration! It all happened at the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City.

The day started EARLY before the  hot weather came  upon us, which was pleasant. We had time to wander the wonder and whimsey that is the Ainsworth Gardens.

The ceremony was performed by our favorite Officiant, The Rev. Kevin Yell, who also co-owns the venue. Then we adjourned to the party.

Bagels with cream cheese, pastries and sweets were on the menu for the day. Nice to get a sugar rush just as things are winding up to party level! The DJ was Trevor, with Dancin' Tunes. He had some good moves and taught them to those who appeared shy or just dance-move impaired.

All-in-all a great way to start the day, thanks guys for letting us shoot your wedding.

Jucel and Tom were married last weekend, June 18, 2016 at St Francis Parrish in Sherwood Oregon.

Jucel is a Social Worker and Tom is a comic book Artist / Illustrator. Together they are a Bride and Groom Super Hero team, the Dynamic Duo of Matrimonial Bliss, the Super friends to all of their other friends, family and acquaintances  and just darn nice people.

We started out lost, . . . the GPS sent us to this lonely little neglected church building in a field surrounded by industrial storage and a partially burnt building. We decided that we would  make the best of it, went exploring, and suddenly there was the 'real' location; nice modern architecture, woodsey, the perfect  place for a wedding! It just kept getting better, wonderful sanctuary with lots of natural light, great access for pictures and a rock-star priest, well not an actual 'rock-star' but he was full of personality he and gave great mass.

After the preps, some romantic pictures, the cerremony by Father James Herrera, family formals and other portraiture it was time to go to the party at the Portland Brewing Company.

The buffet was unique, tasty but unexpected. We had breakfast. It was great. Any time you can combine breakfast with great beer and good people it is time for fun. I am not sure if it was a joke on the crowd or not but the DJ had the "Cha-Cha-Slide' by DJ Casper on an endless loop for about 15 minutes. At first I thought it was a last-person-standing type contest but right after grandma was carried from the dance floor by smiling intoxicated groomsmen, the song was changed. That room was hot and it was not only because of the 125 people on the dance floor, the floor was rockin! What a crowd. I have honestly, in seventeen years, not seen this many people all enthusiastic about a line-dance. What an experience.

Just outside of Rogue River Oregon, Holli and Robert and their family gathered for a wedding celebration staged in a gazebo that they built themselves on a picture perfect creekside property. It was the perfect setting, the perfect day, the perfect couple and the officiant wasn't bad either.

We arrived just as the air was warming up to toasty and the sky was a beautiful blue. Out walked Holli, a vision, in this spectacular dress that completely complimented the nature that surrounded us but at the same time made the definite statement, "I am here, now we can begin" in wonderful whimsical sort of way. Of course, Robert was right there too and he looked good.

We did indeed begin, we made some beautiful imagery together. It is so nice to photograph a couple so completely in love.

The ceremony was performed by me. In addition to traditional wedding stuff it included a hand fasting and a unity sand ceremony which was a family affair including their children.

Afterwards the ceremony and the love mob hugs and stuff we created some family portraits.

I am so sure that this will be one of "those" happily ever after stories. Thanks guys for letting us be part of your day.

Shivani and Scott were married last Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the beautiful, historic, Adrianna Hill Ballroom in downtown Portland. It was a spectacular affair, celebrated and attended by an enormous number of family and friends, who were all ready to party and wish the newlywed couple happiness and joy.

There  are many opportunities for great images at the Adrianna, from the loveliness of the bridal suite to the dark romantic mystery of the balcony and decorative staircases. We walked across the street to Director's Park for some quick shots before the rain started and even caught a few pics in front of the old Guild Theater as the rain started to fall. Then it was back to the ballroom for family formals, a wonderful ceremony, cake, dancing, hugging, kissing, and then a party broke out.

Anjie and Len were married last Saturday, April 2 2016, at the Heceta Head Lighthouse State Park.

It was a beautiful day and location for a wedding celebration. The ceremony was performed by a friend of the family, Tay McEdwards, and was attended by a wonderful group of family and close friends and Domino the Australian Shepard sporting quite the flashy bowtye.

It was wonderfully refreshing last Saturday to shoot a wedding where everything was 'picture perfect', well coordinated, beautiful, felt spontaneous and flowed as smooth as silk.

Jacqueline and Skip were married on Saturday October17th on at an exquisite private home overlooking CoosBay (the actual bay).  We had marvelous weather; blue skies with fluffy clouds. Everything was perfect.  With the help of many marvelous people, two in particular, we created some art and had a beautiful shoot.

What a wonderful day.

A big THANK YOU to Liz and Mike Kinzie for opening up their beautiful home for Jacqueliine and Skip's celebration. Liz, you run a flawless event.  Everything looked and felt perfect and the flow of events was very natural and smooth.

The ceremony was officiated by Nate Lewis. In addition to being a great officiant, he and his wife own an operate Wild Oats Studios, in Coquille. Wild Oats is a vintage clothiing/jewelry resource with hundreds if not thousands of one-of-a-kind items. It's like, well, . . . stepping through the looking glass, . . .

Jacqueline and Skip's DJ, Your Way Sound and Lights , was truely world class.  He was an MC without equal.  Jeff kept the party moving, played a great combination of music and was great to work with. Kudo's to Jeff!

It seemed like being back home again at the Ainsworth House and Gardens.  It is by far our favorite venue and add to that favorite status; our favorite Officiant: Fr. Kevin Yell, our favorite MC/DJ: Kris Krmpotich and our favorite Wedding Coordinator: Nancy.  What a team! What a couple! What a wedding! We made some art last Monday, September 14, 2015 when Sam and Billy were married at the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City Oregon.

Everything is set up so beautifully for photo ops from the well appointed Bridal Suite to the stately Groom's parlor to the pathways winding through the magnificently landscaped gardens. Just can't say enough about it.

Add to all this perfection a couple who is expressive and uninhibited and, well as Kevin mentions in his ceremony, "it creates magic!"

The ceremony was followed by an adventurous party including a limbo game, a teddy bear toss and a caterer that I have never met before who does delicious things to a piece of meat.

We did it again!  We dodged the rain for a beautiful Oregon Beach Wedding.  We do have good beach karma!

Kacy and David were married Saturday September 12, 2015 at Nehalem Bay State Park in Nehalem Oregon.  The Ceremony was officiated by your's truly and the  party afterwards were attended by a lodgeful of family and friends.

We started out at the Sea Haven Guest House, in Rockaway Beach, where we shot bridal Prep shots and then moved on to the state park.  The ceremony was touching and fun with just the right amount of preachy entertainment thrown in to keep people from falling asleep.  We then made some art, shooting on the beach, before returning to the lodge for some of the BEST BRISQUET AND BAKED BEANS I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE. The caterer said that the secret ingredient was, "just a splash of Jack, . . ." yumm.

What a nice background for a wedding celebration. Thanks for asking us to shoot your wedding!

Phi and Chad were married last Saturday in one of the most beautiful gardens in the entire state.

They were married in the outdoor sanctuary at the Grotto in southeast Portland. We managed to dodge the weather and had a beautiful ceremony, officiated by Fr. Ignatius, just before the rain started to fall.

After the ceremony we went to the Tiffany Events Center in west downtown Portland to party the night away.  There were many excited family and friends ready for the fun to begin, lots of goodies (I noticed that the cupcakes and the chocolate covered oreos were gone even before the cake was cut), a great meal and a rockin DJ that kept the tunes coming and the people moving.

Patrice and I even went out and took our turn on the dance floor,  It was just that kind of night!

Jessica and Patrice were married last Saturday, August 15th, on a picture perfect day at the home of Jessica's Grandmother in Knappa Oregon.

The ceremony took place in a quiet peaceful country setting east of Astoria, was presided over by Coast Guard Chaplain Greg was directed by a twelve year old flower girl named Hanna.

 Jessica and Patrick arrived at the reception in style in a turquoise blue classic chevrolet provided by the Cannery Hotel and Spa (where the 'celebrating' after the celebrating was planned to take place).  They were quickly introduced to an enthusiastic crowd of family and friends. The Reception took place at the Astoria Events Center and started with a tasty meal and moved on to a tasty cake followed by lots of dancing (managed by our aforementioned flower girl).

We love backyard weddings and when said backyard has a lake, a beautiful flowing lawn and lovely flowers planted all over it makes for a wonderful location for the perfect celebration.

Sara and Uri were married on the Seeley Family Farm in North Plains Oregon on Saturday August 8, 2015 in front of a gathering of close friends and family.

This event was a surprising and wonderful collection of personalities.  I was heard saying, 'I've new seen a Groom do that before' (and I've seen A LOT of Grooms in my career).  Other comments were tossed about like, 'ooh, this Bride wears cake very nicely', 'I didn't see THAT coming', and 'oh how sweet.'  It was a good day.  They are in love, . . . ahhhhh, . . .
